The people you will be following.

In a canyon, the operator matters more than the canyon does. So this page is about who we are — and where it is blank, it is blank because the words have to come from the guides themselves rather than from a copywriter.

Why Nevidio

One canyon, done properly.

Deep Waters runs descents of Nevidio, on the Komarnica river above Šavnik. Not a menu of activities across Montenegro — one canyon, the same route, over and over, in every water level a season throws at it.

That is deliberate. Knowing one canyon well is what lets a guide tell you on a Tuesday morning that today is fine and Thursday is not, and be right. Nevidio is called the unseen because you cannot see into it from above; the people who take you in are the ones who have been inside it enough times to know what it does when the weather turns.

Who we are

The team

Stefan, a Deep Waters guide, sitting in the white water at the foot of a cascade in a blue and black wetsuit and yellow helmet.

Stefan

Guide. Works in English and Montenegrin.

Languages

The guides work in English and Montenegrin. Briefings, safety signals and everything said in the canyon are in English for international groups.

There is no Hebrew-speaking guide. The Hebrew pages on this site exist because a large number of our guests are Israeli travellers and they deserve to read the details in their own language before they book — but on the day, the language in the canyon is English. If that is a problem for anyone in your group, tell us before you book and we will be straight with you about it.

How we work

The safety approach, in plain terms

None of this is unusual. It is what a competent canyoning operation does, written down so you can check that it is what happens.

  • The guide goes first. Every drop is rigged, checked and descended by a guide before a guest touches it.
  • The group moves as a line. You do not overtake, you do not wander ahead, and nobody is left at the back on their own.
  • Kit is ours, and it is checked. A 5 mm wetsuit, 3 mm neoprene socks, La Sportiva canyoning footwear, helmet, harness, ropes and hardware — all provided and inspected.
  • Water level decides, not the calendar. If the river is too high the descent does not run, whoever has travelled how far to be there.
  • Group size is capped. The cap is set per trip when we confirm your date.
  • You sign a waiver on the day and declare medical conditions. That form is not a formality — it is what the guide plans around.
